Little Lighting Guy provided a complete production design solution for the Redlands Ballet & Dance concert in 2020. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Redlands could not use it's regular venue, and instead turned to us to transform their school hall into a theatre, complete with wings, backdrops and a complete lighting, audio and comms setup. We provided a complete and sophisticated lighting package in order to light the performers creatively and effectively for video. To ensure that the performances went off without a hitch, and to produce a detailed and thorough design for each item, we used timecode for the majority of the contemporary, jazz and tap dances.

The key when designing for this event was flexibility. For the lighting design, this meant having multiple options available for the different mediums, where we opted for an moving LED floor package and pixel mapped fixtures on the side to provide detail and rich colour in the contemporary songs, and a more theatrical approach with plenty of side lighting and pastel colours for the ballet section.
